Ingredients
  • 4tbsp Mustard oilEdible mustard oil. I bought mine from a Bangladeshi store
  • 3 onionI have used red onion
  • 5/6 Pumpkin Leavesyou can also use zucchini or cucumber or any gourd plant leave  or even a cabbage to make the same.
  • 2tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 3/4tsp Hot red Chilli powderI like this hot. Please use as per your taste. My chilli powder is not that hot so I needed more. Also it gives a lovely red colour
  • 2 tsp SaltAs per taste
Instructions
  1. Make thin slice of the onions
  2. wash the fish and sprinkle salt, turmeric and chilli powder. Marinate the fish
  3. Add the remaining salt, chilli powder and turmeric to the onion. Add mustard oil
  4. Mix the onion, pressing with hands so that they become soft, making them easy to roll inside the leaf parcel
  5. Place a piece of fish on a pumpkin leaf, add some soften onion mix
  6. Fold the leaf in a way so that the fish is sealed totally. You might need some extra leaf too.
  7. Add little oil on a frying pan. Shallow fry the fish parcels turning them on both sides
  8. Serve with hot rice
